Caruso, A Belmond Hotel, Amalfi Coast

A must stay. This was the last stop on our 15 day, 5-star romp around Rome and the Amalfi coast, and clearly we saved the best for last. When I say I had my breath taken away, I truly mean it. Not only is every nook and cranny absolutely beautiful, but the staff at Caruso are on another level. The hotel’s location alone would attract repeat visitors, but the hospitality shown by the hotel staff are what make it an exceptional property. Though we wanted for nothing, every need we had (such as extra foam pillows and a steamer) was immediately executed. We want to especially thank Francesca for welcoming us so warmly. We had the opportunity to eat, swim, and use the spa during our 3 nights at Caruso and all were top notch. Our room featured a stunning terrace and came equipped with a Dyson hair dryer. There was even a 110 volt outlet in the bathroom for US electronics! We also appreciated the literature in the room that detailed all available experiences at the hotel (including complimentary shuttle services to nearby towns as well as boat tours) and the use of the Belmond phone app. If you’re like us, and wondering whether Ravello is worth a stop while visiting the Amalfi coast, I cannot recommend it enough. It is such a refreshing change of pace from the super crowded areas of Amalfi, Positano, and Capri. It is easy to stroll around, eat, shop, and visit beautiful gardens. Our only regret was not staying longer, which just means we will have to return sooner rather than later!

We attended a wedding reception at the Caruso earlier this week and were blown away. The food and drinks were excellent with very attentive staff. But what truly made this place magical was the ambience and its views of the coastline. You can tell that a tremendous amount of work and energy goes into maintaining this facility. Unfortunately, we were not able to stay at this hotel. In our next stay in Ravello we will make sure to secure a room in this one of a kind hotel.

Stunning location on Amalfi Coast. Forget Positano— this is the place to see the beautiful Amalfi Coast. Infinitely better than anywhere we stayed on the Coast. The staff is fantastic! Friendly, professional, anticipating your every need. Really, we could not have been happier with the unbelievable views, infinity pool, food, drinks and service. And the town is delightful without being too touristy. Shout out to Luigi, Fabby (Lola), Francesca and all that make this place so special. Best group ever! Everyone on the staff. Truly bravo!! Go. Be swept away…..

We had a nightmare flight situation that caused us to lose 3 nights of stay here. We thought it would be covered under our insurance , but it turns out that flight cancellations due to staff or computer issues are not covered! We were very disappointed tht we would be out all of this money due to a loophole in our travel insurance. It was obviously not the Hotels fault but the management team took it personal and went above and beyond for us to help stomach some of the loss. You can pay for service , but you can not pay for someone to truly care , and they care. The location is excellent, hotel is amazing, pool is breath taking, food is great, but I will be coming here again because of the staff. In this post covid travel time , I have definitely lowered my expectations of service, apparently the team at the Caruso has not, because their service was flawless. Do yourself a favor and book this hotel, we booked a seaview suite with a private patio and it was well worth the money spent. Cant wait for our next trip here. Thank you Caruso .
